Children’s Health Ireland

Dublin, Ireland

Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is Ireland’s national provider of specialist paediatric healthcare, delivering acute, urgent, and specialist services for infants, children, and young people across the country. Established in 2019 under the Children’s Health Act 2018, CHI brings together Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, and paediatric services at Tallaght University Hospital into a single publicly funded, integrated organisation. It also operates paediatric outpatient and urgent care services at Connolly and Tallaght hospitals.

CHI provides local paediatric services for the Greater Dublin Area while managing national specialist services, including several delivered on an all-island basis.

Guided by its vision of “healthier children and young people throughout Ireland,” CHI places children, young people, and their families at the centre of care. Its work is underpinned by child-centred care, compassion, excellence, integrity, innovation and collaboration. As an academic and learning healthcare organisation, CHI combines clinical care with education, research, and innovation to improve outcomes of children and families.

CHI is also leading the transformation of paediatric healthcare in Ireland through the development of the new National Children’s Hospital Ireland (NCHI), which will provide an integrated environment for paediatric care, teaching, research, and innovation.
