Nurses are the largest professional group in children’s hospitals and play a vital role in delivering specialised, high-quality care from infancy through adolescence. A strong, well-trained paediatric nursing workforce is essential to ensuring all children receive safe, effective, and compassionate care.
The Nursing Working Group promotes nursing excellence and highlights the unique contribution of children’s nurses to child-and family-centred care across Europe.
One concrete priority of the ECHO Nursing Working Group is to improve the quality and safety of care in Paediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs). To achieve this, they have joined forces with the SAFE-ICU COST Action, bringing a paediatric perspective to this European project.
